Authentic Selves: Celebrating Trans and Nonbinary People and their Families
September 9, 2023 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Authentic Selves: Celebrating Trans and Nonbinary People and Their Families is a collection of narratives by trans people about their journeys to self-discovery. This book was published by Skinner House Books in collaboration with PFLAG National and Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund. The exhibit is organized by the non-profit Family Diversity Projects (FDP) (SUUF is co-sponsoring this event.) Joey Morelli, a retired law enforcement officer from NYC, is now a writer, activist, educator and public speaker, living in Sedona. His transition story is included in the book and photo exhibit. J.J. O’Brien will interview Joey at the reception. The exhibit of excerpts and photos from the book will be shown at St. Andrews from September 9 through October 6. As co-hosts, we will serve as docents in some time slots. Please see Tanya to volunteer or sign up at the September 9th event.
