Evolving Elders

EE meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month, at 10:30 am, in member homes. It’s a friendly gathering led by group members which focuses on topics suggested by the group.  Sometimes funny, sometimes nostalgic, other times informative—and always interesting. Check the monthly newsletter, email announcements, or website calendar for topics and addresses of meetings.

SUUF Book Group

The book group meets the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month. A new book, chosen by our minister, is discussed every two months.  They often deal with justice and marginalized groups.  Our September-October book selection is The Noticer by Andy Andrews, and the November-December book choice is The Healing Wisdom of Africa by Malidoma Patrice Some’.  Rev. Anthony is the discussion leader for these two selections. The January-February selection is Social Justice for the Sensitive Soul: How to Change the World in Quiet Ways by Dorcas Cheng-Tozun.

Past selections have included Caste, An Indigenous People’s History of the United States, Defund Fear, The Four Pivots, and more. We endeavor to educate ourselves and to consider what actions we might undertake.  Sign-up sheets for book group participants are in the lobby at SUUF services, or you can email president@sedonauu.org to reserve a spot.

Please Note: Watch the newsletter, emails and the website calendar for meeting locations of Evolving Elders and SUUF Book Group.  You may typically participate via Zoom using OWL technology as well.  Click here to learn how to join any of these meetings on Zoom. Friendly Feasts

Enjoy Fantastic Meals? Stimulating Conversations? Charming Dining Companions?

Our Friendly Feasts are dinners generally held once a month at members’ homes, October through April. These small group gatherings provide another way to get to know each other in a casual and warm atmosphere. The designated hosts let attendees know what dish to bring to accompany the host’s entree. Interesting conversation and laughter are also on the menu! Contact Suzanne at sfburkey47@gmail.com or Pat Loomis at sedona.pat@gmail.com for more information.  Signup sheets are in the lobby on Sundays. Click for a more detailed description of Friendly Feasts.
