Water Communion: Renewal and Resilience

[Please note that we will not have a service on Sunday, September 5, in keeping with our tradition of not holding services on either Labor Day or Memorial Day weekends. All of our recorded services from the past year are available for your viewing. Refer to “Past Worship Services” under the Worship tab for a complete listing and the corresponding links.]

Welcome to our first Worship Service of the Fall of 2021. All are invited to bring a sample of water from their travels or water that has other significance. We will Ritually pour our water into a common bowl to signify coming together again. Our theme will be Renewal and Resilience as we recognize these unprecedented times of tumult in which we find ourselves. Together we shall honor our Resilience and affirm our Renewal to building the Beloved Community.

We look forward to returning to in-person services on Sunday, September 12 at our previous home at the JCSVV (Jewish Community of Sedona and Verde Valley) located at 100 Meadowlark Lane in Sedona, with Reverend Anthony Johnson presiding as our new minister.

For everyone’s protection during the ongoing pandemic, we will be adhering to several safety protocols against transmission of the Covid-19 virus, including the wearing of masks and social distancing. Please visit the “Home” page on this website for complete details prior to attending our in-person services (displayed under “Recent News”).

Update (Sept 14): We hoped to be able to provide access to a recorded version within a day of the live service. However, due to the complexity and time required to edit the video recordings of the live service and to merge them into the pre-recorded portions (music and readings), we anticipate that each week’s service will not be available for viewing on YouTube until the following weekend. The link will be sent by email to our membership, and this posting will be updated to include it. Thank you for your understanding.

This week’s service was recorded and is now available to view on our YouTube channel. Here’s the direct link for your convenience.
