The Power of Joy

The poet Toi Derricotte revolutionized Black feminism with one line in a poem, “joy is an act of resistance.”  The truth is life is meant to be joyous! We are pleasure-seeking beings by nature. Joy makes you younger, more intuitive, smarter, healthier, and more powerful. This talk will explore the “Power of Joy,” an energy that is available and innate in each of us.

Our in-person services take place in the sanctuary at JCSVV. This week’s service was recorded and is now available for viewing on our YouTube channel using this link.

For everyone’s protection during the ongoing pandemic, we continue to adhere to several safety protocols against transmission of the Covid-19 virus, including the wearing of masks and social distancing. Please visit the “Home” page on this website for complete details prior to attending our in-person services (displayed under “Recent News”).
