Poetry as a Spiritual Practice

This worship service will focus upon naming and claiming our feelings through our own poetic words and the poetic words of others as a spiritual practice, that is, as a recognition of our feelings as expressions of who we really are. “Poetry may make us a little more aware of the deeper, unnamed feelings which form the substratum of our being, to which we rarely penetrate, for our lives are mostly a constant evasion of ourselves,” so wrote T.S. Eliot.
