At the base of the Statue of Liberty, broken chains lie unnoticed by most—a quiet but powerful symbol of liberation from oppression. This Sunday, we turn our attention to the “hidden chains” in our lives and in our society: systems of injustice, internalized beliefs, and inherited burdens that still bind us. As Unitarian Universalists, we are called to awaken to these unseen forces and work toward liberation—not only for ourselves, but for all. What chains are we ready to break? What freedoms are still waiting to be claimed?
