Counting the Days: The Journey to Freedom

In the Jewish tradition, there is a custom of counting the 58 days between the Exodus from Egypt and the 50th day when we received the Torah from Mt. Sinai. It is an archetypal journey of preparation and soul refinement that each person makes at some time between one stage of life and another more developed stage.

What did we learn along the way in the “wilderness”. What mistakes did we make? How did we grow and get ready for a new stage of responsibility?

This in-person service will take place in the sanctuary at the JCSVV. It will be recorded and available for later viewing on our YouTube channel. Please revisit this posting the weekend following the service in order to obtain the YouTube link.

Our Order of Service, designed for double-sided printing, will be provided for your reference.

For everyone’s protection during the ongoing pandemic, we continue to adhere to several safety protocols against transmission of the Covid-19 virus, including the wearing of masks and social distancing.
