Unitarian Universalists believe there is some wisdom in all the world’s religions. Each has valuable views to offer about humanity and our life in the world. 

Therefore, UU’s keep their minds open regarding the religious questions people have struggled with in all times and places.

For themselves, UUs regard personal experience, conscience, and reason to be the best filters of religious claims, not a particular book or person or institution.  They explore religious beliefs within their own hearts, minds, and souls.

They also believe that religious wisdom evolves over time.  Human understanding of life and death, the world and its mysteries, is never final.  Revelation, insights, and discoveries are ongoing.  UUs celebrate and study the unfolding truths revealed to teachers, sages, and scientists over time.

They affirm the worth of all people, recognize that people have different opinions and lifestyles, and honor those differences.

They seek to act as a moral force in the world, believing that ethical living is the supreme witness of religion. The effects of their actions in the here and now, and on future generations deeply concern them.  They want their relationships with one another, and with diverse peoples, races, and nations, to be governed by justice, equity, and compassion.
