The concerns, the confusion and the chatter around the issue of Gender reverberates in my head this morning.
I recall the message of the famous Persian poet Hafiz, who when asked “How does it feel to be a man?” replied “I view Gender as a beautiful animal that people often take for a walk on a leash. And might enter in some odd contest to win strange prizes.” I so love the way Hafiz captures and presents his meaning and vision of Gender. He inspired me and, from my Heart, I wrote this:Hafiz goes on to offer that a better question for him than “How does it feel to be a man?” would be “How does it feel to be a Heart?”
That goes for me too.
