How UUs Describe Themselves [#103]

What do Sedona Unitarian Universalist Fellowshipers say about their faith?  Here are some examples:

  • “Our faith celebrates the beauty, diversity, and goodness of all creation—all life. We believe in love and compassion for all—and in using what we learn to make the best choices we can.”
  • “UU is people who covenant to treat one another well, care for the earth, and protect the beautiful tapestry of cultures and communities that make up the people of the world.”
  • “UUers believe: It’s a blessing you were born. It matters what you do with your life. Whatever you know about God is a piece of the truth. You do not have to do it alone.”
  • “UUers share a spirit and vision of radical inclusivity, individual agency, and social justice. It is a safe space to stand out, stand up, and speak your mind. We embrace personal discovery and growth through learning, engagement, and service. Our only doctrine is love.”
  • “UU seeks to enrich our relationships—with the Divine, with ourselves, with each other, and with the planet which we call home.”
  • “UU is at a wisdom tradition crossroads, much needed now in our global community.  We listen to each other across difference and learn about each other in depth. It affirms our basic human unity, our ecological interdependence in the world, and our spiritual connection to the larger universe.”
  • “UU is a community of people who don’t want to change me, only help me to be the best version of myself—however that looks.”
