In Judaism, there are 49 days of counting between Passover and Shavuot, commemorating the Jewish Exodus from Egypt and the beginning of the Jews’ history as a free nation, and marking another major milestone on the Jewish journey: the receiving of the Torah at Mount Sinai on Shavuot, the 50th day.
In the Jewish tradition, these 7 weeks of counting are a period of learning, purification, experience and preparation.
What did we learn along the way in the “wilderness”. What mistakes did we make? How did we grow and get ready for a new stage of responsibility?
Rabbi Alicia Magal will provide insight into this archetypal journey of preparation and soul refinement that each person makes at some time between one stage of life and another more developed stage.
