Members of the SUUF Board of Trustees met with Reverend Anthony Johnson on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 for the signing of his contract as SUUF’s minister for the year 2021-22. President Chris Seeholzer hosted the gathering, which was also attended by treasurer Tracy Young and secretary Pat Kopitke.
Reverend Anthony is well-known to the SUUF community, having participated in services after his move to the Sedona area and later serving as an intern minister prior to attending Starr King School for the Ministry, where he received the Master of Divinity degree in 2018.
Following graduation, Reverend Anthony served as minister of the Humboldt Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Bayside, California, and Director of Congregational Life at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Phoenix, Arizona. He was officially ordained in October, 2020.
Reverend Anthony began his ministerial duties on August 1. He has provided sermons regularly this year for our virtual Sunday services. You can view a recording of most of those services on our YouTube channel, which can be accessed from the Worship tab on our website. He’ll deliver his first as our official minister on Sunday, August 8, 2020.
In his new role, Reverend Anthony looks forward to meeting with small groups or one-on-one with SUUF members and friends to become better acquainted and perhaps to meet some of us for the first time.
If you would like to schedule a meeting, dinner, coffee, or other event, preferably during the 3rd or 4th week of August, please email Reverend Anthony directly (aj@multikultimedia.com) in order to set it up.
Welcome Back, Reverend Anthony! We’re happy you’re here!
