Emerson remains a radical, maybe not in terms of social values or even in literary taste, but Emerson calls us to look at our perception of our very nature. Emerson wrote: \u201cwhat is a man born for but to be a Reformer, a Re-maker of what man has made; a renouncer of lies, a restorer of truth and good \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Our reading is from the words of W.E.B. Dubois:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow is the accepted time, not tomorrow, not some more convenient season.\u00a0It is today that our best work can be done. And not some future day or future year. It is today that we fit ourselves for the greater usefulness of tomorrow.
