Unitarian Universalists in many communities include an Animal Ministry.\u00a0 Its mission is not limited to caring for our endearing pets.\u00a0 They are inspired by the deeper UU principle of \u201crespecting the interdependent web of existence of which we are a part.\u201d<\/p>\n
Animal-loving Unitarians see human beings as a key strand in the intricate web of life,\u00a0, of course,\u00a0but they believe that people are not the only strand that matters.\u00a0 Their core principles not only affirm the \u201cinherent worth and dignity of every person\u201d and \u201cseek justice and compassion in human relations,\u201d they also want to extend these same goals to nonhuman animals.<\/p>\n
They do this by informing themselves about, and seeking to reduce, animal suffering, by promoting ecological justice, by inspiring greater reverence for the earth and all of its species, and by striving to live in harmony with the natural world.<\/p>\n

Chris is a long-time Sedona resident (and a former SUUF president) with a deep belief in having compassion for all beings.\u00a0 For several years she served as a volunteer at a\u00a0sanctuary for abused horses and farm animals.\u00a0 She affirms the inherent beauty and interconnectedness of all species.<\/p>\n
