\u201cOh, I\u2019d have thought they’d focus on religious subjects.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNot really, although one person did mention the old movie, \u2018Oh God!\u2019 Remember? George Burns played the title role. When he was asked, \u2018Was Jesus your son?\u2019, George replied, puffing on his cigar, \u2018Of course, Jesus was my son,\u2019 then he paused and added, \u2018And so were Confucius, the Buddha, Mohammed\u2026and lots of others who didn\u2019t get such good publicity.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cInteresting! Seems they don\u2019t go in for hero-worshipping.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNope, as I recall, the minister closed his service with, \u2018We ask these things in the names of\u00a0all<\/em>\u00a0those, known and unknown, remembered and forgotten, who lived and died as devoted servants of humankind.\u2019 I think his point was that greatness in spirit and deeds isn\u2019t the sole possession of famous faith leaders.
