On Sunday, September 1, the Sedona Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (SUUF) will hold its annual \u201cWater is Life\u201d service.\u00a0 Rev. Anthony Mtuaswa Johnson will resume his weekly talks, after a summer away, by exploring the sacred and essential nature of water, not just as a physical\u00a0resource but as representing our connection to the Earth, each other, and the deeper\u00a0currents of life.<\/p>\n
From flowing rivers to life-sustaining rain, water reminds us\u00a0of the interdependence among all living beings and the natural environment. Through readings, music, and reflection, the congregation will renew its dedication to honoring and protecting water in all its forms, as well as its commitment to safeguarding this precious element for future generations.<\/p>\n
Members will bring and combine small containers of water from their travels this summer, here and abroad, to symbolize water\u2019s world-wide significance and Unitarian Universalism\u2019s respect for the spiritual common ground that underlies religious traditions around the globe, including Judeo-Christian, Buddhist, and Native American.\u00a0 Unitarian Universalists believe no one religion has all the answers, but all have something to teach us.<\/p>\n
