Margaret Fuller was a transcendentalist who used her intuition to explore divine mysteries. UU acknowledges the value of scientific, feminist, rational, spiritual, and activistic routes to truth, or any blend thereof, that one might choose.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; margin: 0in 0in 6.0pt 0in;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: #222222;\">Furthermore, UUs advocate coming to religious truths experientially. Their beliefs<span style=\"letter-spacing: -.25pt;\">\u00a0<\/span>are not so much revealed to them as\u00a0 experienced<span style=\"letter-spacing: -.1pt;\">\u00a0<\/span>by<span style=\"letter-spacing: -.35pt;\">\u00a0them<\/span>. They encourage their children to develop\u00a0 their own working wisdoms, instead of taking their truths primarily from their parents or tradition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; margin: 0in 0in 6.0pt 0in;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: #222222;\">All who participate in the UU cradle-to-grave religious adventure have the opportunity to develop a faith that is personally meaningful, intellectually sound, socially relevant, and spiritually\u00a0 expansive.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; margin: 0in 0in 6.0pt 0in;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: #222222; letter-spacing: -.1pt;\">UUs\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: #222222;\">are<span style=\"letter-spacing: -.25pt;\">\u00a0<\/span>not<span style=\"letter-spacing: -.4pt;\">\u00a0<\/span>ashamed<span style=\"letter-spacing: -.2pt;\">\u00a0<\/span>to confess that &#8220;truth comes in small installments.&#8221; They find that modest and well-lived insights can be ample for sustaining a fulfilling <span style=\"letter-spacing: -.1pt;\">existence.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; margin: 0in 0in 6.0pt 0in;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: #222222;\">They also believe that facing this real and known world with integrity is preferable to yearning for an imagined<span style=\"letter-spacing: -.05pt;\">\u00a0<\/span>and unknown one<span style=\"letter-spacing: -.1pt;\">\u00a0<\/span>later on.\u00a0 As Unitarian Henry<span style=\"letter-spacing: -.05pt;\">\u00a0<\/span>David Thoreau stated, &#8220;One world at a time, my friend, one world at a time!&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unitarian Universalism differs\u00a0from\u00a0mainline faiths primarily by recognizing that truth\u00a0is\u00a0multi-faceted\u00a0and\u00a0elusive.\u00a0 UUs affirm that we all learn\u00a0many\u00a0different partial truths in our life, but believe that \u201cthe whole truth\u201d is inaccessible to human grasp.
